Melrose Education are delighted to have opened their first brand new school, Coombswood School. The new school, located in Halesowen, in the borough of Dudley was transformed from an acquired office building, into a well thought out Special Educational Needs secondary school close by to Melrose’s sister primary school, The Rowan School. Coombswood School will support the needs of learners between the ages of 11 and 16 with a broad range of mild to moderate learning, social and mental health needs, and communication and ASD difficulties.
The school was carefully designed to provide a nurturing learning environment for young people, and includes its own ‘Nurture Room’, where learners can enjoy relaxation time in a safe space. The school also offers spacious classrooms and food and nutrition teaching spaces, as well as a large, secure outdoor sports area.
