The Orchard, a Special Educational Needs School in Grimsby and proud member of the Melrose Education group of schools, is thrilled to announce an outstanding literary achievement by its learners. As part of a national writing competition organised by YoungWriters, 15 talented learners from The Orchard have been selected to have their stories published in a book, embracing the theme of ‘Mission Chaos.’
YoungWriters competitions are designed to inspire creativity in school children across the UK, helping them develop confidence and writing skills through engaging themes. At The Orchard, reading and storytelling are already a cherished part of the school culture, but this recognition highlights the incredible imagination and writing talent of their learners.
School Principal, Steven Broderick, expressed his pride:
“At The Orchard, we aim to nurture not only a love of reading but also a passion for creative expression. Seeing our learners’ stories selected for publication is a testament to their creativity, perseverance, and the supportive environment we strive to provide. This achievement will undoubtedly inspire our young authors to continue developing their writing skills and confidence. Congratulations to our talented writers for this amazing accomplishment! Their success is a wonderful reminder of the limitless potential within each of our learners.”
